BUNKR, CENTRAL DISTRICT’S POP-UP VILLAGE, UNVEILS THE OFFICIAL PROGRAM FOR ITS INAUGURAL EDITION: AUGUST 7TH TO SEPTEMBER 30TH

August 11, 2017, Montreal – The BUNKR pop-up village and art installation, presented by The UPS Store (Central District), and in collaboration with Le Pop-Up Shop and the Hive Creative Space, has unveiled the program for their inaugural edition, debuting August 7th and running until September 30th in the Central District neighbourhood of Ahuntsic-Cartierville. BUNKR’s soft launch was held during the week of August 2nd.

This summer, BUNKR will radiate with a novel events program. This new event space in the Central District neighbourhood (previously Chabanel) was designed to create memorable experiences for the community by the community. The team behind the project has put together a complete lineup of events including live performances, workshops, art exhibitions, and many more activities.

There is no shortage of talent in Montreal!

“The BUNKR pop-up village is a great example of the revitalisation that is currently taking place in Chabanel. I am very pleased to see that such a creative initiative is being set up in the area this summer and that it will offer an opportunity to showcase the potential the neighbourhood has to offer, to the workers and the visitors to the area.” – The honourable Mélanie Joly, MP for Ahuntsic-Cartierville

In honour of Montreal’s 375th anniversary, BUNKR will shed a light on all the talent the  neighbourhood has to offer. Chabanel has a unique history which will be commemorated through a diversified event schedule in the image of the community.

It is with great pleasure that I lend my support to this community initiative which aims to revitalise the Chabanel neighbourhood. BUNKR is a project that brings the community together and will help shed a light on the neighbourhood and its local artists, merchants and businesses.” – Christine St-Pierre, MNA for Acadie and Minister of International Relations and La Francophonie.

Many partnerships have been formed in order to bring BUNKR to life. Bringing this kind of project to life in such a short timeframe would not have been possible without the incredible support we have received from our partners and sponsors. It’s an impressive achievement! Mr Pierre Desrochers, the municipal representative for the district of Saint-Sulpice, announced that he is proud of the initiative launched by The Experience Collective, as well as the involvement of stakeholders in the area, who are all contributing to energize the neighbourhood into a place we all want to discover.

This feat was accomplished with the help of Marché Central, the Borough of Ahuntsic-Cartierville, La Fabrique Allwood, Kika Marketing & Communications, moCore, Cellutrak, the Government of Québec, Big Bang ERP, Les Immeubles HS, SDC District Central, Deserres, PixMob, MU Architecture, and Affaire Média.

We are very proud of the partners that are supporting us in this adventure, says Annika Panzini, President of The Experience Collective / DCMTL and Founder of BUNKR. Given that this is our first edition, the amount of support we have received from the local Montreal businesses, demonstrates that our project is definitely worthwhile and clearly desired.
